The record-number, 52-athlete Naperville Track Club Fall XC squad finished its season running for fun and several personal bests at the 2014 Naperville Turkey Trot. Zach Kinne (17:05) won his 10-14 age group and finished 30th overall among over 7,600 entries. The rest of our Turkey Trotters also finished the season with a great day. All beat Coach Wolak (30:59)….by a lot, even Sienna McEneaney (30:41) because she paced her Coach. Thanks, Sienna! Those tickets were punched by top 30 finishes at the Region 7 Championships at Lewis University last weekend. The National Qualifiers received throw-back NTC “national” hoodies at our last practice on Tuesday. Will Wachter’s 6th place finish in the 8-U Boys’ race was our top finish, but all gave solid efforts on the chilly day. Thanks to Heather Wachter’s press release, our athletes made headlines. Read more about our national qualifiers here: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/aurora/community/chi-ugc-article-eight-local-youth-runners-qualify-for-junior-2014-11-26-story.html A final note: It was very “cool” how about 20 of our athletes came out to battle the challenging cold weather during our last practices. Remember, to be great in the regular season, you’ve got to run in the off season. So layer-up and keep running if you can. “Who are WE….NTC!” |
